Balloonists to benefit. FEL has started another new community-based project. This one is for balloonists participating in the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival held annually the first full week of October. To be able to predict the wind phenomenon known as 'the box' would be a giant step forward, according to Chief Engineer Ibn Farteen. The new initiative, Fyreandyce Engineering Laboratories' Layered Air Temperature Inversion Observations, will be known as FEL/LATIO.
Juana Bleaugeob, the FEL/LATIO Project Leader, announced that, with the successful completion of the annual Albuquerque Balloon Festival, FEL/LATIO will be suspended until next August. As a tribute to the success of the project, she noted that while pilots were often blown rather indiscriminately, the famous Albuquerque Box was nearly always available.
